Have You Written It Down? - Your Faith Journey
March 27, 2018
A few years ago, a friend and I were doing a workshop for a women's conference and the topic was sharing your faith. We did a little skit to get the participants comfortable with sharing their faith and leading others to Christ. One of the recommended exercises was to write out your faith journey. You know, actually commit it to paper. Write out the events that shaped your journey to Jesus and what happened after you knew Jesus. There is a lot of power in storytelling, and having thought out the story ahead of time, will allow you to articulate your experiences at a moment's notice.
In the next few blogs, I will be sharing some of my own faith journey. In writing Four Weeks, I sifted through a lot of my own experiences. Some of the skepticism of Connie has roots in my journey. Heather's tendency to conceal facts about her life are familiar to my journey. Margaret's impatience, wanting to get really involved in church activities before she establishes a strong relationship with God, draws from my personal experiences as well. I hope these blogs are an inspiration to you to write down your own story of faith. The one thing I know for sure it that there is no 'wrong' journey. Your path to Jesus is as unique as you are, and it is holy.
