More About Gain, Transition & Victory
October 9, 2018
In a previous post, I mentioned 2018 being a Year of Gain, Transition and Victory. This was a word given to our pastor for our church body. I wanted to share with you some of the things that have happened in 2018.
Believers will gain momentum; things will speed up coming to them and coming from them.
The book Four Weeks is an example of this. I had been working on this book since 2012. Additionally, my daughter and I had also been talking about starting a business since 2014. To have actually published Four Weeks in late March 2018 and then to have started JL Powers Ministries a few months later, is truly gaining momentum on things that have been stalled for years.
In 2018 there will be a gain of wisdom and knowledge in the areas of your life that have seemed to be at a standstill. You will gain the wisdom that will propel you out of the standstill into the answer.
I started bible academy at my local church in December 2017. I learned from the assigned reading, workbooks, and lectures how to be more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and what it looks like to walk in love. It has changed the kind of boss I am. I am more likely to come into a conversation looking for the win/win. My assumptions have changed and I am looking for opportunities to see things from another’s point of view. I am slower to jump to conclusions. I am not perfect, but it is WAAAAY better than it used to be! I bet my employees have noticed, too!
You might be skeptical about whether God gives a special word to a church body. You may believe that if a thought is planted in your head, it is human nature to begin to look for evidence of its truth, that the things that happened this year are merely coincidence. But there is ample evidence in the Bible that God speaks to men about things coming in the future, most notably the coming of the Messiah, Jesus. (See Isaiah 9:6-7 & 42:1-6, Daniel 7:13-14, Luke 1:31-35.)
As I mentioned at the end of Four Weeks in From the Author, God is speaking to people, and those who listen and heed will see God moving in their lives. I believe God, and I am going to meditate on what I hear Him say to me personally and to my church body collectively. I will look for the good, because that is what I chose to do.
