The End of Road for Road Rage

November 5, 2018

When someone becomes a Christian, they are reborn on the inside, but their outsides may still need a lot of work. If a Christian does not spend a lot of time in the Word and commit to changing on the outside, they will say or do things that do not look very Christ-like. I became very conscious of this some years ago when I put a dove symbol on the back bumper of my car. If I am declaring by displaying that symbol that I am led by the Holy Spirit, what kind of witness am I when I honk and gesture a different kind of "bird" at another driver who cuts me off in traffic? I was convicted, and my episodes of road rage ended soon after.

The women of Four Weeks have an extended discussion about how they are to act now that they are born again. Before Heather was born again, she thought nothing of her road rage, but now she feels differently about it. They also explore being hurt by people who claimed to be Christians but who then acted in a judgmental or harsh way. I will be talking more about this during the Urban Abbey book signing event on Thursday, November 15 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM with a short presentation that starts at 6:30 PM. Hope to see you there!
